About the FacultyIn 1996/97 the Faculty of Natural Sciences became the Faculty of Science and Technology and is now being renamed as of August 1, 2002, the Faculty of Mona in 1949, at St. Augustine in 1963 and at Cave Hill in 1964.
In the undergraduate programme courses are offered in the subject areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Meteorology and Physics. The first year of the B.Sc. degree programme is also taught at tertiary Level Colleges in Antigua, St. Lucia and St. Kitts/Nevis. Plans are in train to extend the programme to grenada.
Persons who take a Major in the faculty or Pure and Applied Sciences may also take a Major or Minor in any other faculty where timetabling constraints allow.
Specific options in Computer Science or Information Technology and Accounting or Management are offered in the Department or Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics.
Postgraduate teaching and research from an important aspect of the work of Faculty. Programmes leading to M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. are offered.
A one-year course of study leading to the Certificate in information Technology is also offered by the Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics.
Most students in the Faculty are full-time but there is also a substantial number of part-time registrations.
